Undercover Boss

Over the past year or so, I've sometimes thought to myself, despite not getting clear answers, while surviving incredible heartbreak and patiently tolerating a lot of BS from people, I've felt like an incredibly powerful undercover boss (similar to the popular TV show!). This comes from deep reflection of thinking about all the conversations I’ve had to date and personal experiences. Four months ago, I mentioned to a few people that I feel like "God's Investigative Journalist", to which they nervously & amusingly laughed. What are your thoughts on this title? :-)

On a funny, light note, I debated on this particular blog's address to be "Behind the Scenes with Heidi" or "Behind the Scenes with Barbie", registering both domains/names when I signed onto Blogger. Why? True to my geek "square" nature, I've never owned a fake ID and I've utilized my real name my entire life, however most men have treated me like a 'Barbie doll' -> utilizing & abusing me for parts until they're done, often misunderstanding who I am and treating me like a human being, with feelings. Unfortunately, historically this is the treatment bestowed amongst attractive, smart, wise blonde women. (On that note, RIP, Marilyn Monroe.)

Consequently, to poke fun at this awful, yet common curse placed on attractive women, when I got a flip phone this past April, I registered the phone's name ID as "Barbie Buttery" - hahaha! An alter ego of sorts, but yes, that's me! :) Hey, life's too short to take it too seriously... and at this point, though stakes are high, it's all a game.

For now, I'll publish under this domain, but "Behind the Scenes with Barbie" has a better ring to it (to me), and also honors my late grandmother, Barbara - who I understand, with a lot more clarity, as I sit here today and write.

Be well, friends!

Heidi
