An Ultra Resourceful Coastline Experience: So Many Characters!
Dear Reader,
Without going into all the details of my 7 hours spent with a certain gentleman residing in the Silverstrand Beach area, here's what I will say... after I reflected on this guy's post hook-up shady actions, I realized that he and so many others in my life started getting karma after they f'd with me. So let me share with you some fun details about this guy and the karma that got him - haha!
One day while reorganizing my car last summer, which I would often do (as it served dual purpose: a gratitude practice and helped me keep a clean and sanitary space), I noticed a bright blue truck. Well, I exclaimed to the guy who just hopped out that 'I like the color.' He walked over to hear more clearly what I said and we got immersed in conversation, him even hitting his head on my trunk. [After the multiple open and closings I did that summer, my trunk release / components had weakened... gosh, this dimwit US-MX border official made some dumbass comment as he inspected my car about fixing it, as I crossed the border last August. At the time, I simply shook my head, offered him stale Fig Newtons and laughed at the ignorance of people and thier comments!]
After a few days of responding to his sweet, yet incessant, texts, the man “with the bright blue truck” invited me over for coffee and a warm cinnamon roll. One thing led to another and gosh, let's say it was an interesting experience. I had minimal romantic relations last summer and reflecting.. this guy was a standout in many ways. Despite us not keeping in touch afterward, during our time together, he entertained me with so many Hollywood stories, including photos and videos, showed me his scrapbooks. On a serious note, he brought to my attention the deep-rooted racism still prevalent in the local neighborhood, illustrated by many of his experiences with neighbors and local law enforcement. This guy has been f’d over multiple times by police, similar to me.
While I was disappointed he didn't offer me groceries, especially as a local food bank director, I let it go. When my car battery died outside his home, I was broken down there for at least a month (no reasonable excuses, right?)... ah, I thought, that's men for you sometimes! Plus, he told me was into crazy, hot women (like the one that trashed some of his multi-million dollar pieces of artwork).. so I guess I was only hot, not crazy. Ha!
So.. let's talk karma! Shortly, after we hooked up, he texted me some gnarly photos. Apparently, his male ego took over as he was challenged to a road race by a young kid in the neighborhood, who said he looked good for 60! (And yes, I agreed: he did at the time.) Anyway, he tripped racing the young kid and road rash covered his face/body. So yeah, a little karma indeed!
Karma is not just another great song by Taylor Swift. After thinking about this guy and his follow up karma.. and the other men who f'd me over in my life (wayyyy more than this guy)... this includes me noticing delayed gray hair suddenly appearing (September 2023) and more serious long-term illnesses and accidents for these men (like getting hit by cars multiple times, which historically happened to a former family member). Hey - all of these events could all be a coincidence, but after last summer, I thought no, karma is really getting these guys! It's just a matter of time. It also aligns with my theory to let karma work itself out with the rest of the people who f'd me over.
May love truly prevail!
Heidi
