Uncertain Times: A Different Approach

During these ultra uncertain times, it's important to think outside the box for solutions.

Long before my world got turned upside down in August 2023, when I experienced numerous PTSD flashbacks and nightmares and subsequently left my marriage, no one could argue I was not an all-star community member and champion of the SF Bay Area.

For many years, I served the community in many ways, involving my son since he was a young tot. Serving the community, brainstorming and crafting solutions to problems, to which everyone said there were no solutions (as in: housing). So, yes, you could say after the abuse & harassment I've endured from San Mateo County personnel (across many industries) in the summer of 2023 through present day, I get quite livid, if I sit and think about it - not only what they did to me, but what they did to my son. Going into a fresh year, I choose not to focus on the negative interactions (as there are too many too count!) but only to get my own ducks in a row - to focus on my rebuild.

By now, you may be wondering if I tried to get back at anyone in a violent way? No. I haven't. What I have done is spoken my mind a lot publicly and privately - with hopes someone finally steps in and does the right thing to bring justice to my case.

Despite being the victim of many violent crimes, I have never chosen to use violence against anyone. I've had to use self-defense at times, but sadly, that has failed me. Ironically, I can't own a gun under CA state law, due to my forced hospitalizations in 2023, but funnily, I don't need to! I have my mouth and assassinating bad characters is more important to me at this point in the game. While I believe in responsible gun ownership, I don't personally care to use them or have them in my home. I grew up in an irresponsible household with unlocked guns lying around.. but hey, I was primarily raised by fearful Republicans - I now fully see why if you are governed by fear and male, you'd have to sleep with one under your mattress.

Knowing both the United States has the highest military spending in the world (currently ~40% of global spending) and being equipped with intimate knowledge shared by connections I have made over my lifetime, I'd say we're heading for some kind of large scale war, where guns do come in handy, right? Unfortunately, true.

Call me crazy, but at the end of the day, I do believe in karma, love, faith and people doing the right thing. But hey, if guns are involved in the near future, better make sure you're armed and ready, right? In October of 2023, despite self-identifying as a “liberal Democrat” raised in often-racist Republican set of households, I checked off the "Birthday Party" political box when obtaining my replacement DL. Because, yeah, both parties can't figure anything out at this point.. and I don't want personal affiliation with Dems or Republicans! These are labels groups gives themselves, but basically they are cults. Look up the definition of cults and yes, good job, America, you've elected the Republican cult leader back in. Ha! Funny, but not, right? I've said this soooo many times in the past: I don't care which political party you're in - simply be a good person, do the right thing! But often, this is too much for some people. I digress.

**This post is dedicated to Steve Jobs. While, yes, he was hard-headed at times, he made a lot of positive changes in this world, stopping at nothing, embracing failure and finding the right team to build something concrete from his visions. He didn't compromise his principles and even though he didn't make the best choices as a father, he positively impacted millions, probably billions by this point. When he passed away in 2011, I initiated a "wear black turtleneck or shirt" day in his honor at my office. May you rest in peace & power, Steve Jobs.**

Cheers to the visionaries of this world and their loved ones who truly support them.

With Aloha,

Heidi
